Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much of my donation goes toward helping animals?

The quick answer is 100%. All funds donated stay within the organization to pay for vet care, supplies, and overhead costs to run the organization. This website would be an example of an overhead cost. You are more than welcome to note in your donation that you would like it to be used for a specific cause - like someone’s medical needs.

  • How do I request a receipt to document my donation?

Instead of providing a receipt of donation any or every time an amazing person donates to us, Spicy Kitty will send out an end of year donation receipt in January of the following year. This is good for both of us. You only have to keep track of one document for your taxes and we only need to send out documents once during the year. If you need something additional, like to prove to your employer you made a donation so that they will match it, email us and we can get you what you need.

  • How can I help Spicy Kitty Animal Rescue?

Donate. Foster. Share our social media.
Donations of both supplies and funds give us the ability to help more animals.
Fostering provides a safe space for an adoptable animal. The more foster spaces we have, the more animals we can rescue.
Sharing our social media accounts brings more awareness to our organization, hopefully increasing donations and finding adopters!

  • Where is Spicy Kitty Animal Rescue located?

Spicy Kitty is based in Colfax, North Carolina. We are completely made up of foster homes at this time so there is no physical location for you to visit. If you want to meet any of our animals, complete an adoption application and then we can set up meet-and-greets.

  • What payment methods are accepted for donations and adoption fees?

We currently collect payments through Paypal. Paypal allows you to pay using your Paypal account or a credit/debit card without needing a Paypal account. We also accept cash and/or check.

  • How long does the adoption process take?

If you complete your application completely, we try our best to get back to you with your approval status within 72 business hours. From there, it is all down to scheduling, so the sooner you are available to have a meet-and-greet, the sooner you can take your new family member home.
